Read Gods Word and the Holy Spirit

Last week I wrote a post well-nigh the Holy Spirit and the power to change unhealthy behavior. This is a follow-upward post about God's ability and the Holy Spirit.

Paul writes about the Holy Spirit'due south power in a prayer to the Ephesians:

"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen y'all with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in beloved, may have ability, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and loftier and deep is the honey of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to practise immeasurably more than than all nosotros ask or imagine, according to his ability that is at work within u.s.a., to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:16-20

God'due south power is available to us considering of his Holy Spirit in us.  This is not 'our' power, simply it's the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in united states. In that location is a departure.  Many people who do not actually know God nor fully sympathise the scriptures, endeavor to live out of their own strength and ability. Verse xx in the scripture higher up clearly states that it is the Holy Spirit'due south ability that is at piece of work in usa that enables us to alive differently – to make changes in our lives.

The Holy Spirit'southward Power

"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that y'all may know him better. I pray too that the eyes of your eye may be enlightened in order that you may know the promise to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his decidedly great ability for us who believe. That ability is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right mitt in the heavenly realms…" Ephesians 1:17-twenty

In these verses higher up, Paul reminds us that it'southward through the "eyes of our heart" that we are able to understand how God works in our lives because of our belief and acceptance of Jesus Christ in our heart. When God begins to live in united states in the form of the Holy Spirit, he gives us a new centre – a regenerated middle. With this centre, nosotros are able to renew our minds to his truths found in scripture. (Romans 12:2) Equally we fix our hearts on these truths and believe them, and we yield to God, the power of the Holy Spirit lives more fully through us. And every bit Paul writes, this power is the same mighty power that raised Jesus from his grave and sent him to be with his Begetter in heaven.

God wants each of us to experience this power so that we tin realize the fullness of his love and live a kind of life that glorifies him. If this is your motivation – to glorify God with your life by the power of his Spirit – then God will respond your cries for more of his power equally y'all yield to his Spirit within you.
